In the early morning hours of April 26, 2026, a tragedy unfolded in Parks Township, Armstrong County that forever changed the lives of four local families. A senseless act of violence claimed one life, left three others seriously injured, and sent an entire community into grief. One family lost a mother of three young children. Of the three survivors, one has a bullet lodged in her spine that cannot be removed — a permanent injury that will bring life-changing physical limitations and a long road of rehabilitation. Another was shot three times, faces multiple surgeries with another procedure already scheduled within weeks, and is looking at six months or more before being able to return to work. The third is further along in his recovery but is not without his own difficult road still ahead.

The road ahead for these families is not short and it is not simple. Medical bills are already accumulating. Income has been lost with no clear timeline for recovery. Three young children are navigating life without their mother. We have been in direct contact with the families and survivors and are actively learning their needs as they continue to unfold. Our community has already shown its heart through online fundraising efforts, and we want to give everyone the chance to show up together in person — because some things are best done at a table, surrounded by neighbors who refuse to look away.

On Thursday, May 28th, 2026, we invite the entire community to the Leechburg Marconi Club from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM for a Benefit Spaghetti Dinner. Dinner includes spaghetti, meatballs, a dinner roll, house salad with Italian dressing, and dessert for a suggested donation of $10, with a meatless option available as well. Dine in or take out. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to the families impacted by the April 27th shooting in Parks Township. Basket raffles, a 50/50 drawing, and music will round out the evening. Come hungry. Come ready to give. Come together.
